Huzzah! A Beaujolais Nouveau Worth Drinking!
If you shop here, you know that we're big Beaujolais nerds. Bright red
fruit flavors, fine tannins, fair prices... what's not to love?
Unfortunately, the familiar boo-juice for most people isn't the Cru
wines from the best villages, or even a good producer's basic
offering. No, most stores only stock the worst of the area- a
Beaujolais Nouveau from one of the big producers. Bottled within mere
months of harvest, nouveau (or "new") wines aren't inherently bad, but
the ones on most shelves are bland bananna-cherry tasting swill, more
wine cooler than actual wine.
